Aiyoh, why so tough one?

Updated: May 24

Starting Ashtanga Yoga can feel like embarking on a thrilling adventure. It’s physically demanding, and your muscles might protest a bit at first. But fear not, this journey is all about growth and pushing your boundaries gently.

How to remember all these moves, ah?

Ah, the learning curve! Don’t worry, we’ve all been there. Learning the sequence of asanas can feel like trying to remember a complex recipe. It takes time and practice, but soon you’ll flow through the poses like a graceful dancer.

Why is my breath all over the place?

Oh yes, the struggle of coordinating breath with movement! Keeping up with the vinyasa flow can feel like chasing after a runaway roti canai. Just keep practicing, and soon enough, your breath will flow smoother than teh tarik. Take it slow, focus on your breath, and soon you’ll find your rhythm.

Why do I sweat so much during Ashtanga Yoga?

Ah, the sweat fest! Ashtanga Yoga is like a sauna for your soul. The dynamic movements, deep breathing, and intense focus can turn up the heat, leaving you dripping like monsoon rain. But fear not, it’s all part of the detoxifying journey toward inner peace and radiant health. Just remember to hydrate after the practice like you’re stranded in the desert, and you’ll be fine.

How to keep ego in check, ah?

Letting go of ego is like trying to catch a slippery eel with your bare hands. Remember, this practice is about you and your journey, not about comparing yourself to others. Embrace humility, celebrate your progress, and leave the competition at the door.

Practice minimum 2x, up to 5x a week. Where got time lah?

We feel you! Between work, family, and catching up on your favorite K-drama/Netflix series, finding time for Ashtanga Yoga can feel like trying to find a parking spot in SS15 or Taipan. Start with twice a week, 45-mins to an hour practice, and build up from there. Keep it steady and you will find your routine. We promise!
